Day 8: CSI Marathon Continues + Halfday Hong Kong
Adventure
How would you spend your time on a 14++ hours flight?
Well, I finally got to fell unconscious after my Salmon supper along with some
white wine. The thing I hate about Cathay Pacific economy seat? It doesn’t
recline! It slides to the front! What a genius designer!

The Salmon was quite nice... |
Haagen Dazs! |
Anyway, sitting in an aisle seat with a mother &
daughter beside meant you wouldn’t have a good night sleep as they kept waking
you up during the night for restroom! UGH! Thus this was how I continued my CSI
Marathon after getting woken up numerous times. *sigh*
It's a LONG FLIGHT! |
There were some snacks between the 2 meals served on a 14
hours flight but you would have to get them yourself in the gallery or you had
to be awake at the right time when the flight attendant served it. I was
starving after being woken up thus I grabbed a chicken sandwich from the
gallery myself.
Mini Chicken Sandwich |
Breakfast was served 2 hours before touchdown in Hong
Kong so I chose the porridge set since I’d never tried one before on flight.
The Verdict? You’d better off with Omelet meal since this was basically
tasteless. The flight attendant was so stingy with my request of a glass of
milk with not even half a glass was filled! *roll eyes* Guess as Airline
Insiders mentioned – Economy passengers are all beggars whose sole purpose is
to fill up the seats. Hehe...

The plane touchdown at Hong Kong International Airport at
6am but my connecting flight to Penang was at 3.20pm! I should really shoot our
company travel agent! *facepalm* What should I do? I ended up taking the
Airport train to Hong Kong Station to get to Victoria Peak.

Once the train reached Hong Kong Station, basically I had
to walk over to Central MRT Station to look for J exit. There were lots of
direction signs there so you wouldn’t be lost – since a direction blind person
like me made it out alive. Hahha… After J Exit, basically I just followed the
road signs and managed to reach the Peak Tram station before 8am.

The way to the Peak was very steep and we reached the top
in no time. That was when the confusion came – what should I be doing here? I
was looking for signs and maps and it all pointed on scenery viewing. Thus
there I was wondering around the place looking at Hong Kong from Victoria Peak –
feeling kind of bored. People started to piling in at around 10am and I was so
bored until I took the tram to get to the bottom station.

Some Deco on the Station |
This was where it hit me! HARD! Like Slap in the face!
There it was a counter at the station opened for ticket for Madame Tussauds Wax
Museum ON THE PEAK!!! DARN!!! The counter was closed when I reached the station
in early morning so I didn’t see it at all! Not to mention there was NO SIGN of
Madame Tussauds Wax Museum on the Peak as well! Talk about missed opportunity!
Guess lack of research finally caught up on me. I was seriously considering
whether I should go up to the peak again to the museum but decided not to since
there were long lines of people now.
Thus I waited at the 15C Bus station which located just
beside the Peak Tram Station to catch a open top bus to Star Ferry Station. The
fare was only HKD4 but since I have no small change, I had to pay HKD10 since
no changes was allowed on the bus. So remember to get more small changes or buy
the transportation card if you want to take bus in Hong Kong!

Once the bus reached Star Ferry Station, it was very easy
to take the Ferry to go across the Strait to Tsim Sha Tsui for the Avenue of
Stars. The weather was very hazy thus my eyes were extremely itchy – not to
mention there were MOBS of tourists rushing around for photo shooting
everywhere. You could hardly take a picture without someone walking in front of
you or simply run to the monument. *facepalm* This was definitely not a good
memory of my stopover trip in Hong Kong.

I was hungry and wanted to try one of the local foodcourt
there but the queue was SO LONG!!! I ended up getting lunchbox from 7-11
instead since I’d need to get back to Airport before 2pm. There I was sitting
at the area just beside the clock tower eating my 7-11 lunchbox along with lots
of mainland tourists. =P

My flight back to Penang took another 3++ hours and the
chicken meal was just passable. Anyway finally reached Penang at around 7.30pm
after a long long day. Home sweet home! I'm proud to say that i'd managed to finish the whole Season 13 of CSI!!! LOL
