Travel Log: Gold Coast ~ Australia (Day 6)

Previous Day (Movie World & Harbour Town)

Destination: Gold Coast, Australia
Duration: 6 Days 5 Nights (Aug 21~Aug 26, 2011)

Day 6: Seaworld & Airport

It was our last day in Gold Coast and we needed to be picked up by airport coach on 7.20pm. Thus Seaworld would be the only destination of the day. We took the bus as usual and reached there before their business hour.

Seaworld Bus Stop
It was not opened yet!
We got their show schedule like in Movieworld but apparently there were fewer shows since some of them were in maintenance. We went to see the penguin *squee*, I love penguin, they are so cute!
I'm Sexy & I Know It!!!
I'm Sexier!!!
By the way, the sun was simply scorching here. You couldn’t really open your eyes without sunglasses. We went for this fish detective show and there was this sea lion doing lots of tricks. Then we went to ray’s reef to touch the stingray. It felt slimy! You could buy food and fed them with your hand but the seagulls there were fighting for food with them. :p
Clap your hand! Don't make me come get you!
Can you stand on your hand?
Bye!
The Stingray..
Hahaa.. it was like a doggie!
The dolphin show was okay – typical dolphin show. Nothing special there.
JUMP! JUMP! JUMP!!!
"Close" Encounter with Dophin!
I liked the castaway bay though, you could experience life as a pirate by climbing, crawling and clambering the way through The Sky Fortress with rope bridges, tunnels and much more. Or you might do the sky climb if you are more adventurous.
Can you walk on top of this?
I think this is more suitable for me!
Make it out alive with 3 inches heel!
A View from the Fortress!
I'm so not going to go through this!!!
Trapped!!!
There was simply nothing much to do so we ended up at the Bert & Ernies show and watched the Happy Feet in normal 3D. Kind of disappointed at Seaworld… perhaps we should’ve joined another day tour instead.
The Children Show!
Happy Feet...
Since we were bored, we took their sky train and monorail to have a look around the whole park. They do cater for helicopter ride but I guess the price would cause you to have a heart attack.

Sky Train
Monorail
We ended up watching penguins again and ate our late lunch – seafood delight set (AUD 16.99) at their foodcourt. The food was fine but nothing extraordinary. The funny thing was that there was a family there feeding seagull chips and they were surrounded by tons of them!
Can i have one?
Seafood Delight
SHARK!!!
Bye Bye Seaworld!
We headed back to the Surfers Paradise Night Market for the last time before boarding our airport coach to Brisbane Airport. Since we have lots of time to kill, we walked around and stumbled upon this cool architecture where small balls are being lifted up & down and thrown around all with momentum precision. Nice!
Cool Car @night market!
Another one @night market!
And this is our airport transfer bus! *facepalm*
Cool!
We then decided to try Red Rooster for dinner – the classic quarter chicken (AUD8.80) was savory and tender. This was when we noticed it was the 1st time we ate chicken in our entire Australian trip! Guess lamb & beef were more common here.
Classic Quarter Chicken from Red Rooster
We finally go on our red eye flight and reached Malaysia on Oct 27 morning – before being served with the MH “famous” Nasi Lemak, Omelet & Pie again! Well, at least there was not giant tomato anymore. Bye-bye Australia!
Oh no! Not AGAIN!
Malaysia Boleh!

Travel Log: Gold Coast ~ Australia (Day 5)

Previous Day (Springbrook, Natural Arch & Tropical Fruit World)

Destination: Gold Coast, Australia
Duration: 6 Days 5 Nights (Aug 21~Aug 26, 2011)

Day 5: Movie World & Harbour Town

We’d decided to be a typical Malaysian tourist today by visiting Movie World! We bought the 3 Worlds (Movieworld, Seaworld & Wet’n’Wild) tickets online before our trip at myfun.com.au for AUD109.90 per pax. We took a bus to our destination and I must say that public transport in Australia was not cheap. A short distance would easily cost you AUD 9 per pax.
Our Bus to Movie World
We got the show timetable from the booth and started to plan out our day accordingly. There were Daffy and Tweety standing there and we ran to take a photo with them. I think they must be thinking we were nuts because no one but children or parents with children queue for the photo. *blush*
Here We are...
Daffy & Tweety!
We then went into Scooby-Do Spooky Coaster for a ride – mind you, this was a children ride and I was screaming like there was no tomorrow. Guess this showed how “Brave” I was. *facepalm* After that we saw the Bat Mobile, cat woman, Marilyn Monroe and the Scooby-Do Family! One good thing was that it was not weekend thus the place was less crowded – unlike my trip to Universal Studio Singapore last year.
The Scooby Doo Ride...

Scooby Doo Family!
We continued with the exciting stunt driver show and laugh out loud when the cars started to show up. It was Mitsubishi Lancer! Our mind just kept thinking about Proton Inspira and was giggling nonstop. Remember this cartoon? :p

The Cartoon!
The stunt show was funny and corny and we couldn’t help but give in to our inner childishness! But we just couldn’t get over the expectation for the Lancers to say “F*ck You!” spontaneously. Oops.. guess children were all around!
Inspira?
After the show, we got to the show stage to for the “What’s Up Rock?” musical show that featured music and dancing from rock 'n' roll to show time hits. Hmm.. is it just me or the Lola Bunny looked scary? I guess this was heaven for the children though as they sing and dance along.
Scary Lola!
We planned to take the Wild West Falls Adventure Ride at their Wild Wild West section but unfortunately it was under maintenance. What a bummer! We managed to catch the Wild Wild West Show though with the cowboys, sheriff & barmaids. It was great fun and the sun was starting to shine as well. What a nice break from the cold weathers last few days.
Wild Wild West Section..
The Barmaids! Hmm... they look familiar..
Cowboys and stuffs...
After the show, we kind of chilled around, took somemore photos & grabbed a hotdog until the Batman shows up the show stage. There were some fighting between batman and some ninjas and that was when we realized that the ninjas were actually the barmaids in the previous Wild Wild West Show! Hhaaa.. apparently they ‘recycle’ dancers! The show was then followed by the Marilyn Monroe show where she sang and threw seductive grin at guys in the audience. And those ‘recycled’ dancers appeared again!
Kid's Zone!
The Tasmanian Devil!

Hotdog!!! Mustard, bbq sauce & tomato sauce are self-service!
Batman with the dancing girls!
Marilyn with the dancing girls again!
Journey to the Center of the Earth 4-D Adventure was another attraction in Movieworld and it was like a typical 4D shows with 3D glasses, motion chair and water sprinkler. Nothing  extraordinary if you ask me. There was this Scooby-Doo show on show stage again and it was great fun, the children there were getting into it and cheered and screamed.
Need to solve a mystery...
There were some discount vouchers in the brochure that they gave us and we used one of them to buy Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Yummy yummy! Our Movieworld experience ended with the star parade with lots of movie characters – we also saw Justice League.
FAT!!!
Look at their slogan!
Justice League!
By the way, Movieworld did have a lot of thrill rides – we took some photos but we didn’t get on ourselves. Here are the photos!
Thrill Rides!
Another one...
We left the place at around 4.30pm and caught a bus to get to Harbor Town – one of the famed outlet malls in Gold Coast. There were tons of branded shops there but unfortunately, they closed at 7pm! That totally left us too little time for shopping! *cry* We went into Levi’s which had buy 1 free 1 jeans but didn’t manage to get anything. Then we walked into FCUK and finally managed to grab a “no fcukin’ worries” shirt and a skirt. I love the skirt – it was gorgeous! After that we stumbled into Calvin Klein Jeans which had a big “END OF LEASE SALES” plastered on their window. I walked in there and I start to hyperventilate because the jeans were only AUD40 a piece! I ended up ‘donating’ AUD100 for 2 pairs of long jeans and 1 jeans skirt (AUD20 only!). What a bargain! *grin*
What a Great Bargain!
Nice huh?
We took bus again to our hotel and grab a lamb kebab (AUD7.50) and a Subway set (AUD6.99) for dinner. I must say this was the best kebab I’d ever tasted! The way the vegetable, tomato, onion and lamb mixed together with the sauce was amazing! The Subway set consisted of a 6inches sandwich and a bottle of coke. We chose Pizza Sub to try out since we didn’t have this in Malaysian Subway menu. It tasted okay.. still prefer their Italian BMT sandwich. =)
Pizza Sub & Coke Zero...
Lamb Kebab!
