Day 3: Pigging out till the End
Day 3 started with breakfast in Oasia and
did the checkout before walking to KL tower. Why KL Tower? Well, because we had
no idea where to go and KL tower looked to be just beside us!!! However, this
was deceiving as one actually had to walk uphill for around 15 minutes to reach
the destination. It was quite a hot day and we were sweating like crazy before
finally reaching the ticket counter.

So Close and Yet so FAR!!! |
Entrance fee to the tower is not cheap (RM32/adult,
RM21/child for MyKad holder) so we only get the access to observation deck. The
view from the deck was hmm… ordinary as I guess we simply did not have the
element of excitement as this is KL. =P
Finally we are here! |

Monorail Station |
After the deck, we walked downhill and
saw this upside down house attraction but did not go in. Little one had been
dying to try the monorail so we took the monorail to Bukit Bintang area for Pavilion.
Apparently there is a Tokyo Street at Pavilion and it is kind of highly
recommended so we went there to have a look.

Tokyo Street |
We ended up with FOOD again when in
Tokyo Street – this time the Santouka Ramen since we were craving for ramen and
they had this RM1 per piece for salmon sashimi promotion. Not to mention kid
got to eat for free too! We ordered the Signature Santouka Tonkotsu Ramen with
pig cheek and salmon sashimi and got the BBQ pork rice as free kid’s meal. The broth
was nice and the cheek tender but for some reason I still missed Ichiran Ramen in
Penang (link).
However, little one really loved the broth and was drinking it nonstop which
left us with the pork rice instead. =P

After lunch we simple did some window
shopping in Pavilion before getting back to Oasia to drive back to Penang. However,
what is a KL trip without Pan Mee? We made a detour to this famous Kin Kin Pan
Mee to try out their famous chili pan mee. The menu was either dry or soup pan
mee and the chef was actually foreigner. *facepalm* We ordered dry pan mee and
added on tons of chili before digging in. One word of caution – the chili was
really REALLY spicy!!! *exploding* For some reason I still preferred the chili
pen mee at Jalan Ipoh which offered a bit of sourly zest.

We continued on to highway with an
overstuffed belly and decided to make another detour to Ipoh for Tuck Kee Wat
Tan Hor. The restaurant was really full when we arrived eventhough it was
already 9pm+. The Wat Tan Hor was sold out and ended up ordering moonlight hor
fun. The waiting time was around an hour and I ended up going off to get
souvenir from other shops. The food was not even there after my shopping spree.
Thankfully we were not hungry – cannot imagine one had to wait for an hour if
they were starving to begin with. =P
So many people in Ipoh!!! |

Moonlight Hor Fun |
We were kind of disappointed with the
moonlight hor fun though as we still preferred the Wat Tan Hor. It was already
10pm++ by the time we continued to Penang and there was a long jam in the
opposite direction. Thank goodness there was no traffic at our direction! The takeaway
from the trip? 2 Ikea furniture with missing screw (until now they still haven’t
send me the missing pieces even after complaining) and 3-5kg of weight gain
among us! NO MORE NEXT TIME!!! *cry*
