Travel Log: Trapped at Work in Gold Coast (Day 5-6)

Destination: Australia
Duration: 6 Days 5 Nights (Apr 09~Apr 15, 2016)

Day 5: Last Night at Surfer’s Paradise

Today was our last day in Gold Coast thus we’d decided to take a cab to Surfer’s Paradise after the event. It was drizzling that night so not much we could do when we reached Surfer’s Paradise. We ended up in this highly recommended restaurant by Sofitel called Hurricane’s and ordered their famous ribs. The place was really popular and it was a full house even though it was a Thursday. The ribs were really scrumptious especially the beef! Nom nom!
It's a Grey morning... =(

A View out to the Beach from Hurricanes.
The rain finally stopped after our dinner so we simply walked around the area aimlessly – unfortunately most shops were already closed since it was late. I walked past the same Hungry Jack that I had my 1st meal in Gold Coast in my personal trip back in 2013 (link). Such Nostalgia! :P
Walking without direction
Hello Seagull!
Nice seeing you again after 3 years!

An empty street
Where should we go?
We stopped for some ice cream before walking past HardRock Café which was closed by that time. After that we simply stopped a cab randomly and got back to Sofitel.
Let's get some ice cream instead
I totally forget what flavor it is but it's one of the recommended flavor
Hard Rock!
Since it was our last night, we’d decided to be more adventurous to walk to Jupiter’s Casino to have a look. It was kind of a letdown though as it was quite small and since we had no idea how to gamble, we simply left after a while to romp around area new Sofitel instead.

This is the only picture of the casino as no picture is allowed inside
Let's win an Audi!!!

This looks nice but closed. =(

Day 6: Time to go home!

I had to wake up fairly early to get to Brisbane airport as my flight was in the morning. Once I reached Brisbane airport, I went straight to the Coffee Club for their egg benedict which was highly recommended by my colleagues. It was indeed delicious but I think the hollandaise sauce there was a bit too much. =P
The only "Sunrise" i saw during my stay in Gold Coast... if this can be called Sunrise! =P
The Coffee Club
This looks heavenly!
Runny Egg Yolks!
Giant Chess Pieces
Sammy is eager to go home!
I finally board my flight and was served lunch and I chose the egg noodle with chicken. It tasted just okay but it was nice to eat some noodles after many days of western food. Before touching down to Singapore, we were served snack again and I chose the chicken & mushroom pie. It was quite dry and frankly speaking – not very appetizing. LOL!!!
Let's have some beer!
Red Wine & Noodles.. =P
Dessert
Chicken & Mushroom Pie with White Wine
I had a few hours transfer at Changi so I simply walked around, worked a little and goofed with the Changi Mascot. I also bought my MOET Nectar Imperial using SGD40 Changi airport SQ transfer voucher (SGD20 from my Japan trip & SGD20 for this trip). I ended up paying around another SGD40 for this bottle of MOET. Definitely a steal! =P
Cute Mascot!
My MOET Nectar Imperial!!!
It was dinner time so I bought roasted pork rice at Tai Hin but it was terrible! The roasted pork in Cecil Market in Penang tastes so much better than this so-called famous roasted pork. *facepalm* By the way, Garrett’s Popcorn was newly opened at T2 that time as well! Nom Nom!!!
This is supposedly very famous
Yet this is BAD!
Let'e have some popcorns instead
Crispy Caramel Popcorn!
We were having ‘traffic jam’ in tarmac before finally lifted off the ground for Penang! Hooray! It was finally time to go home! =)
Traffic Jam!!!
Finally in the Air!
Refreshment
Appreciation Mayfield Chocolates from Gold Coast
