Travel Log: A Piggie’s Life in KL (Day 2)

Day 1 (Onwards to Bukit Bintang)

Destination: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Duration: 3 Days 2 Nights (Jul 07~Jul 09, 2016)

Day 2: KLCC, Ikea & Foodssss

Breakfast in Oasia Suites KL was okay but nothing to shout about – they had quite a spread of local & western cuisine. After breakfast, we walked to KLCC thinking to go up to the observation deck but unfortunately it was closed for the holiday!
Breakfast Spread - I do like the fruits!
Since we had no idea what to do, we strolled to the KLCC park to take some pictures before going indoor again due to the scorching weather. There is an Auntie Anne’s nearby and we were hoping to get the cheese nugget but it was sold out. *pout* That was when we stumbled upon Cold Storage – time to stock up the booze! TWICE since we forgot the vodka in the 1st purchase. *hopeless* After our alcohol spree, we also managed to get the Cheese Nugget from Auntie Anne’s - Great timing I guess? I love the bite size cheese nugget as the pretzel is will with thick chunk of cheese. Definitely to die for especially when it’s eaten hot.

It's so HOT outside!

We walked back to Oasia again to put our alcohols into fridge before driving out to Ikea Cheras. I heard this Ikea is actually bigger than the one in Damansara. We walked until couldn’t feel our legs and finally had our late lunch at Ikea Canteen – one of the must-do for Penangite in KL. LOL!!! Guess this will change once Ikea is opened in Batu Kawan in 2018. =P
We are here!!!
A House in Ikea
We had the beef meatball, salmon & chicken chop as there was this promotion on free RM50 meal when you spent above RM500 on furniture. The meatball was still as nice as we remembered but the chicken chop was mediocre. The salmon was the healthy food among these as it was kind of tasteless with minimum seasoning – but definitely a must-have for the health conscious! =P
Ikea Food with unlimited refill drinks!
After our long stay at Ikea, we drove to Midvalley for some window shopping. The truth was we had no idea where else to go and we ended up with more FOODsss again! *facepalm* Since we were still full with Ikea food earlier, we bought Carl’s Jr Burger to go as supper. On our way back to car park, we stumbled upon this giant curry puff stall (HOMI) and bought one as well.

While we were driving back to Oasia, Waze brought us near Merdeka Square so we stopped there for some pictures before continuing on. This is actually my 1st ever visit to Merdeka Square in my whole life as Malaysian! =P
Stop at the roadside to get a picture...
Last one before departing
Off we went to the pool again after reaching Oasia and this time we did remember to take pictures of the KL tower with changing light. We also stayed until the pool area is closed at 10pm before continued pigging ourselves out on the burger and curry puff.
Night "Swim" again.. More than sitting in the water.. LOL!!!
Light Show from KL Tower
The Carl’s Jr burger patty for some reason was not as thick as I remember but it was still juicy after we microwaved it. The curry puff was still crispy and oh so delicious even after hours in air condition room.

What is supper without some alcohol? We washed our food down with a bottle of Bellini with wine glasses provided in the room. We also mixed vodka with cocktail mixer which happened to be on sales in Cold Storage this morning. What a day! *burp*

Bellini please!
Some Cocktail perhaps?
