Voucher Food Hunt: Cheers Restaurant & Bierhaus

Cheers Restaurant & Bierhaus was newly opened in October 2011 with ground floor serving as a pub and 1st floor as a restaurant. In fact, they had been selling quite a few vouchers since opening but it completely slipped my voucher hunting as it’s on another voucher website which was not in my hunt list.

I was so glad to come upon this voucher.
[63% OFF] RM25.80 for Pork Burger OR Seafood Burger OR Classic Cabonara OR Spaghetti Meatball + 1 Bavaria + soup @ Cheers Restaurant & Bierhaus

We were served with mushroom soup & garlic bread followed by our Bavaria Beer. The mushroom soup was definitely homemade as it was not the typical Campbell soup taste. The beer had a strong taste but not to the point of unbearable. It was quite refreshing once you get a hang of it.

The main courses that we chose for the night were Seafood Burger and Pork Burger. Both tasted superb – both patties were freshly made, thick and not the typical ‘Ramli’ nor the ‘plasticly’ patty that some restaurant served.

I could tasted fish & shrimp and probably other types of seafood in the seafood burger patty. The pork burger patty was basically minced pork and it certainly didn’t taste too ‘porky’ – you know that taste some pork dishes were guilty of. In fact, both were really yummy and they were served with a large serving of chips (yummy!!) and coleslaw.

With RM25.80 per voucher, we felt it was totally worth the money as it included beer as well – you know how expensive beer was sold in Malaysia! But the surprise was not over yet – after we finished the 1st glass of beer, the waitress came and asked us: “Do you want to re-fill the beer?” Needless to say we were totally stunned! The waitress then explained to us that 1 voucher actually included 660ml of Bavaria beer – which means 2 glasses of 330ml of beer that we had been drinking. So basically, our 2 vouchers included 4 glasses of beer! MY GOSH! This was definitely the most value for money voucher that we’d ever purchased! Thus we continued to gulp down our beer. One thing great about Bavaria beer was it didn’t really make you feel drunk (or too drunk?) so we were able to drive home in one piece. :p
*barf*
Anyhoo, Cheers is quite a nice restaurant – their original pricing without voucher is reasonable as well. The pork burger & seafood burger original price were RM15.80 and RM17.80 respectively – cheaper than most American Franchise Restaurant but kick their butts taste and price wise. These burgers were an absolute must-try. The Bavaria Beer original price in the menu was RM13.80 but I was not sure the size of it – was it 330ml or 660ml?

They had quite a wide selection of menu for food and drinks as well. The place is also good for gathering since it does provide some private rooms and the service is fine. Who knows I might be going back there just for the burger since I’m such a burger fanatic. =)

Cheers Restaurant & Bierhaus is located between Gurney and Island Plaza – same row as Subaidah in Penang.
