A Month in Prison (Week 4)

Location: Jia Yi Confinement Centre
Duration:  30 Days (May 31~June 29, 2013)

Week 4: Postnatal Massage & Prison Break 2.0

For Chinese, one of the most important things after delivery is to have the traditional postnatal massage in order to speed up recovery process (expel lochia & increase womb shrinking) as well as tone the body (YES!!! SLIMMING!!!). There are many types of postnatal massage from Malay, Chinese or even Thai. In Jia Yi, they do recommend a few massage ladies for the mommies but you can also hire others.
It's time for a Massage!
I was recommended to Su Chin – a Thai Massage lady during my 1st confinement 2 years+ ago thus I’ve decided to have her doing the massage again. According to Jia Yi owner, Su Chin is the best massage among the recommendation. Su Chin mentions that you can start your postnatal massage as soon as 1 week after natural delivery or at least 2 weeks after a c-sec delivery (subjected to her diagnosis). She is very experienced and is 63 years old now.

The whole massage process took about 1 ½ hour which includes:-
- Diagnosis on your condition and massage accordingly (unwind & relieve the pulled vessel/muscle)
- Hot stone treatment (‘tungku’)
- Wrapping

Basically Su Chin will check your body and recommend how many sessions you need. Then she will massage according to your problematic area. I think the most commonly asked question would be: Does it hurt? Well, it actually depends on how serious your condition is – it only hurts when she massage on your problematic area. It doesn’t hurt at all on those healthy parts. I had 3 sessions with her and it hurt less on the 3rd session since she has ‘healed’ the problematic area. However, I did scream like getting MURDERED during my 1st session. *facepalm* During the whole process, she would tell your hilarious story from her massage experience and I must say some really make me laugh out loud. After the 3 sessions, I think my stomach did shrink a little. =P
HELP!!!
After my 3 ‘slimming’ sessions, I receive a message from my crazy colleagues saying MNG is having sales now! OMG!!! Should I orchestrate another Prison Break? Prison Break 2.0? Thus on a sunny and somewhat hazy Saturday, I break out of prison again to hair salon to wash my hair before going to Gurney Plaza with my unbuttoned and half-zipped pants again. *No eyes see*
MNG Sales?! *Fainted*
Before stepping into MNG, we took a detour to Parkson FCUK to have look. Before I knew what happen, I was succumbing to a FCUK 70% discounted dress which I eyed since quite some time ago. Oh Gosh! Someone kills me!!! *cry* If you think that's bad, think again. Before i knew what happen, we stumbled upon Armani Exchange which was having sales as well!!! Oh dear!!! How could I resist this?! So I ended up BROKE before even stepped into MNG… *bawling* EPIC FAIL!!!!
This is the Culprit!!!
NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
I’m ashamed to say that I’m the WORST prisoner EVER as there is a Prison Break 3.0 on Wednesday night for 9pm “Man of Steel” showing. *facepalm*Anyway, my prison sentence is near to an end thus I guess this would be my last prison break. A Month in Prison (Week 3)

Location: Jia Yi Confinement Centre
Duration:  30 Days (May 31~June 29, 2013)

Week 3: Prison Break & Calories!

Life in confinement can be boring and that’s the reason I wrote some tips last week on how to survive it. However, one still can get crazy to be confined in the same place for such a long time. Thus this is why we need a PRISON BREAK!!! SSSSSssshhhhhhhhhh……………
It's Time for a PRISON BREAK!!!
The story goes like this: during a dreary day when I kept refresh my Facebook newsfeed, I ‘accidentally’ saw a feed by FCUK stating up to 80% sales from Jun 14-16 in FCUK 1-U & FCUK Queensbay! Oh my Gosh!!! Being a FCUK dress fanatic, this is just too painful to skip! I know I’m HOPELESS but I don’t care!!!
Helping the Malaysian Economy here!!! *Proud*
On Jun 15 morning, my prison break accomplice gave me ‘signal’ to go ahead with the plan and there I was, trying to pull up my jeans miserably and breathlessly… Mind you, it was an oversized jean which I bought from internet ages ago and I thought I could fit in. To my HORROR, I barely able to pull it pass my butt not to mention button or zip it!!! F**K!!!SOMEONE SHOOTS ME!!! Okay, this was a setback but it would not deter my PRISON BREAK plan! So there I was, breaking out of the prison by wearing an UNBOTTONED & HALF-ZIPPED Jeans sweating like pig thanks to all the pulling! *facepalm*Thank goodness my top was long enough to cover it!
I'm not Fat! I'm just Fluffy!!!
We reached Queensbay at around 11am and saw that GAP was having sales too! We ended up in FCUK 1st and got to know that we could get extra 10% off if we bought 2 items and above (Including discounted items). So Worth it! I ended up with a dress which the salesperson asked me whether I would like to try it on. My answer? “NO, I will just take it!” The girl looked at me dumbfounded – I guess she felt I would not be able to fit in that size. Of course I could not fit in that size since I just delivered a baby like less than 3 weeks ago!!!! DUH!!! However i didn't really blame her as i still looked FAT. More ridiculous thing had happened to me anyway - Bought a dress from FCUK when I was 8 months pregnant and the salesperson asked me the same question! The same goes for Guess Salesperson! Ask me to try on a jean I bought when I was 9 months pregnant!!! What is it with these people?! *facepalm*
Customer is always right!
Basic T at the Counter... LOL
Anyway I’m happy to say that we did not leave Queensbay empty-handed, other than FCUK, we also managed to grab something from GAP as well. All settled in 1 hour – efficient huh? LOL… *happy dance*
I definitely agree with this!!!
HAPPY!!!
The excitement was finally over when I got back to the routine life of confinement. Sometimes it’s just so frustrating especially when you are staring at your breastmilk flows down the pump drop by drop… and being a cynical and un-motherly person that I am, here is the reason why you should breastfeed or pump! According to Google, your body burns around 20-22 calories for 1 ounce of breastmilk produced! So imagine you can burn 1000 calories (if you have 50 ounces which I don’t!) just by sitting there pumping or breastfeeding! Sound sweeter than running 10 miles right? *evil laugh*
What is Calories?
The Calorie-Burning Machine!!!
Rather than staring at your breastmilk flows down the pump drop by drop during pumping, here are some tips on what you can do during pumping which might actually help you to pump out more milk!

- Staring at your baby IF your baby is with you and you are the motherly type. Pray the lil one won't cry during the whole process!
Motherly Love!
- Swooning at your favourite HOT GUYS on TV/Laptop – this is what I do! Muahhahaaa…. Hey, it really does help! You will forget about the time and end up with more ounces than usual! REMEMBER!!! 1 oz = 20-22 calories!!!!!!
Swoon!!!
- Chatting with friends in Skype/Whatapps – this works too!!! I guess the milk flow depends on your mood too? Perhaps it flows faster when you are in a giddy mood? =p
Best Friend Forever!!!!
Until Banana Appears!
Then This Happens!!! Ouch!
Since this is my 3rd week in Jia Yi, some of the meal starts to get repetitive with meal served in last 2 weeks. Thus I’m going to skip those repetitive meal photos and just post the new one. Enjoy!
