Farm House Café - A Gem below Kek Lok Si Temple

When one was craving for lobster, which Penang restaurant would pop into one’s mind? Surprisingly one of these restaurants was actually located at the most unconventional location ever – in an old house right below Kek Lok Si Temple in Air Itam. There was no air condition in the restaurant thus having lunch might be too hot for some patrons though. We went to the café in a chilly Sunday night and it was definitely a perfect night to indulge the food by sitting outdoor.
Is this the Right Place?
Yes! It's Farm House Cafe!

What is inside then?

The 1st thing the waiter told us: we are famous for Maggie noodle! LOL!!! Well, he was right as Farm House Café was famous for the 2pax Maggie noodle pot in Savory Tom yam soup. One might ask what was so special about this. The allure – one might chose to have lobster, snow crab leg, salmon or cheaper pot like pork as main dish of the pot.

Drinks Menu
We ended up ordering the Lobster Zaabbb Noodle and a Soda Bucket (Spring – Orange & Mango). The soda bucket was ginormous and could be shared by at least 2 people. It was essentially Sprite + Sunkist syrup I think. The drink was really refreshing and actually was quite the perfect companion for the tom yam noodle.
Our "Spring" Soda Bucket!!!
Our jaw dropped when our Lobster Zaabbb Noodle Pot was served. It just looked so WOW! The lobster was not overly huge but did pack quite a lot of meat. For some reason some part of the meat near the head was undercooked and tasted quite yucky. I had to drink lots of tom yam soup to wash out the taste. Their tom yom soup though was flawless! It was really sour & spicy which was totally appetizing. We would see they put a lot of spices in it.
Looks Alluring huh?! This is a Pot for 2...
The Lobster!!!
One small peeve was the raw egg in the pot – the pot was not hot enough and did not have the heat retention of a hot pot should be to at least half cook the egg even though I kept pouring hot soup on it when it was 1st served (which should be at its hottest). They should consider to use better heat retention pot so that the egg could be at least half cooked and to retain the heat so that patrons could have hot soup till the end. Our soup grew cold very fast on a chilly night. =)
Perfect Combination!!!
Everything Polished Off!!! =P
They were very famous on milk product as well but we did not order it though. Perhaps next time. =P

Farm House Café is located right under Kek Lok Si Temple (near car park) in Penang, Malaysia.
