Western Breakfast in a Penang Kopitiam

Nested in the unassuming Kee San Kopitiam in Air Itam is Joker’s Breakfast – a localized western breakfast stall. We saw the recommendation online and had to do a double take when we finally found it in the Penang Style Kopitiam.

The Menu

We arrived quite late and ordered their “Joke of the Day” and “Sexy Jokey” with red sauce. “Joke of the Day” was basically big breakfast with mushroom, sausage, ham, scrambled egg, mashed potato & toast. The mushroom was finished when we were there so we were given extra sausage. It was quite fulfilling but frankly speaking nothing to shout about except the mashed potato which was made with real potato with some chunky potato bits. At RM12, it was definitely cheaper than most big breakfast in other places.

Joke of the Day

“Sexy Jokey” was basically grilled sandwich with onion, sausage in tomato base sauce between the bread with cheese on top. It was quite an appetizing treat with the sourly tomato base sauce.

If you happened to be starving on the day – S.I.A.W Platter (Sexy.Incredible.Awesome.Wonderful) was definitely the choice. It was basically a double/triple version of “Joke of the Day” – we did not ordered that but our friend did it during their visit. =)
