A Month in Prison (Week 2)

Previous Week (Introduction)

Location: Jia Yi Confinement Centre
Duration:  30 Days (May 31~June 29, 2013)

Week 2: How to Survive the Month?

Week 2 started with my 2 roommates suddenly leaving one after another thus I have the room for myself for days. One might wonder how we survive the excruciating long hour so here i'm bearing tips!

- Watch TV or movie on your laptop! The most obvious choice as Jia Yi has TV everywhere such as in dining room & bedroom – perhaps we should suggest them to install TV in bathroom as well? LOL. If you are not a fan of Astro, maybe you can just bring your own laptop and watch your favourite movie from there.
Watching TV is FUN!!!
- Breastfeed your baby 24/7! If you are the motherly type, breastfeeding and pumping might occupy ALL your time in here!
Oh the HORROR!!!
- Read novel! It’s time to catch up your reading and go through your bookshelf.
Novels Novels Novels!!!
- Chatting! Either with other mommies here or in a Chatroom with your friends/colleagues! It keeps you occupied and laugh like a lunatic!
Going BANANA!!!!
- SLEEP! You only have this luxury for 1 month! After that you will have to take care of your baby (if you didn’t hire anyone to). So why not indulge yourself this 1 month? Let’s SLEEP & EAT like a Piggie!
PIGGIE!!!
- WRITE A BLOG!!! Like I do right now! Hahaha...
Should i do this in my Blog?
A strange thing happened on Tuesday, there was a new roommate coming in and she wanted to fully breastfeed so the baby was sent to her like every 2 hours (even in middle of the night). Then on Wednesday she suddenly decided to leave Jia Yi as she wanted to stay with her baby 24/7 – she didn’t want the baby in nursery. She didn’t even care about her RM1K deposit. Wow, I really wonder whether she asked about the terms and conditions of the center when she signed up. I mean she should know that in Jia Yi, baby would be kept inside nursery and only brought out for breastfeed. So ALWAYS ask the smallest of details before you sign up for any confinement center! I believe different center has different sets of rules. So far I only know that Happy Dolphins Confinement Home let mommy stays with baby 24/7 as it’s a fully breastfeed confinement center.

Anyway, here are some Food Samples in Week 2 for my fellow gluttonous friends!!! Did I mention we get to eat rice dumpling (bak chang) in conjunction for the Rice Dumpling Festival? Yummy Yummy!!!

Breakfast (8am)
Apparently the Chinese medicine drink there is not "Cha Lat" as i mentioned, just learn from another mother it's called "So Hap". So they serve "So Hap" for breakfast but "Cha Lat" for supper.
