Day 4: A F’ked Up Thursday Ended with
Sushi
Breakfast was sausage roll from 7-11
before I began a long day in office. Thursday is always the craziest day for me
thus I didn’t even get a chance to have a proper lunch. Thankfully Family Mart
was nearby. I ended up with sandwich & this green tea pudding – the pudding
was really melt in the mouth ichiban!!! =P

Greentea Pudding! YUM!!! |
Since it was a busy day, I was only able
to return to hotel at around 8pm thus my plan of going to Chidorigafuchi Moat near
Imperial Palace for Yozakura was basically moot since it was too late. I ended
up taking the subway from Tocho-Mae Station to Higashi-Shinjuku Station for
Sushi Zanmai Tsukiji. This restaurant was ranked at No.2 behind Ichiran Ramen
in Shinjuku. The difference between this Sushi Zanmai from others was the
seafood were all sourced directly from Tsukiji market. It was just a 5mins walk
from Higashi-Shinjuku Station. Oh ya, this restaurant opened 24 hours a day in
case you wish to have midnight munchies.

Here we are!!! |
The shop was quite full when I arrived
but thankfully I got my seat in no time. I ordered the Sushizanmai Deluxe set
with 13pcs of sushi. *fat die me* I was sitting right in front of the counter
and the thick cut of fishes were right in front of me. The patrons were a
mixture of locals & foreigners so I guess this was a good sign? My set
finally arrived and it looked so alluring! It was really fresh and I particularly
liked the tuna. I didn’t like some of the cut there such as the squid sushi
which the texture kind of repulsed me but I always hated squid sushi anyway. I ordered
this set because it provided the most variety. The set also came with a bowl of
hot miso soup to warm your tummy.

After dinner, I went into nearby 7-11 to
have a look before taking the subway back to Tocho-Mae Station.

At Higashi Shinjuku Area |
Since it was my
last night there, I’d decided to stay up late and went up to the Tokyo
Metropolitan Building for a night view since I missed it on Monday. Btw, the
front door at the ground level was closed at night and one had to go
underground to access the lift there. The sky was quite clear that night so the
view was spectacular. Unfortunately it was very difficult to take picture due
to glass reflection.

After the view, I walked to the Tokyo
Hilton Hotel to take pictures of their illuminated Sakura tree as consolation
of my abandoned Imperial Palace illuminated Sakura plan. LOL!!! There were only 4 Sakura trees there but it already looked beautiful with the light. I could
not imagine how beautiful it would be at Chidorigafuchi Moat near Imperial Palace
with hundreds of illuminated Sakura trees. *pout*

After pictures I had to go back to the
hotel because I was obviously still waiting for some guy’s update to complete my
work for the day! *swear* Finally the emails came in at 11pm and I completed
the work along with my milk pudding from 7-11! LOL!!!

Day 5: Flying back to Penang
I had to take the 7.40am airport
limousine bus to Narita for my 11.10am flight to Singapore. This time I stayed
awake and snapped pictures from the bus. The bus drove through an elevated
highway through Roppongi and I could see a row of Sakura trees there. The bus
also drove pass Odaiba but I didn’t not managed to get any picture since it was
at the other side of the bus. But it was fun to see the Ferris wheel from afar
again after our visit to Odaiba back in 2013 (link).

The bus arrived in Narita at around 9am
thus I went for breakfast hunting before my flight. According to Mr Google,
Kyotatsu Sushi was one of the best joints in Narita so I went in and ordered
the Nigiri Miyako set. I must say I actually liked this better than Sushi
Zanmai last night since there was no yucky squid. Nom nom! However, the cut
here was thinner than Sushi Zanmai and more expensive though. =P

I finally boarded the SQ flight and this
time I had one of the best seats as it was a bulkhead window seat. Extra
legroom! Yay! There were 2 Japanese ladies with a 2year old toddler sitting
beside me and I was expecting the worst. However, Japanese toddler proved to be
incredibly disciplined and stayed quiet throughout the flight! *salute*

Lunch in SQ was Japanese hamburger meal
which tasted really nice but I was a bit put off by part of its hoarse texture.
It was a short transfer at Changi before I boarded the Silkair flight which
served Chicken Mayo sandwiches. Home sweet home!!! =)
