Travel Log: The Formosa of Thousand Night Markets (Day 7)

Destination: Taiwan
Duration: 13 Days 13 Nights (Nov 18~Dec 01, 2015)

Day 7: Kenting

We were joining some kind of car pool program for a day tour in Kenting today for TWD800 per pax. There were only 2 of us with another couple since it was not peak season so timing was quite flexible. Our 1st stop of the day was ChuanFanShi (船帆石). It was basically a landmark in Kenting composed of coral reefs. We made a brief stop there to take some pictures before continued on to our next destination – ShaDao (砂島).
Our 1st Destination!!!
Which is basically a ROCK!!! LOL!!!!
A Resort at the right with the Cerulean Pacific Ocean
The Pacific Ocean from Taiwan side!
Nice view ya?
Panda Scooter!!!
ShaDao is a beach area whereby the sand is formed by coral reefs and shells. There was also a shell museum of sorts there. Majority of the beach was closed to public though so we just took some pictures and left.

Closed! Not for Public Trespassing!!!
We made a longer stop at ELuanBi Park (鵝鑾鼻公園) as it was a bigger sites of the day. We were given a map and the 1st stop was the lighthouse. There were quite a lot of tourists and even couples doing pre-wedding photography! Anyway, we were following the map but the signboards onsite were quite confusing or even missing sometimes. We were kind of lost at some point but thankfully make it out alright! =P
Here we are at the Park!
It's a HOT HOT day!
The Typical China Tourist thing to do - take a pic with the sign!!!

There was no one else on this route but us!!!
We need a SIGN!!!
My "Come Hit me with a Truck" pose!
Some stalls at the Exit
We then proceeded to Taiwan Most Southern point (最南點) – you will need to walk around 10mins to reach the site, take picture and then walk another 10mins to the main meeting point.  Oh My Gosh! Too much walking today! *sweat*
The Southern Point! 500m!!!
Hello Birdie!
Are we there yet?
Finally!
Ladies & Gentlemen! The Most Southern Point of Taiwan!
The Landmark!
Sammy was there!
Long walk back
The next stop was LongPan Park (龍磐公園) – basically it was just a grassland that faced the Pacific Ocean with strong wind blowing. Our driver – a very friendly middle age lady told us this was also a site used for a famous movie in Taiwan and it was also a great spot for sunrise.
Another Park? Seriously?
Gosh i can't even open my eyes due to the strong wind!
This was where the movie was shot
There were hardly any cars there
Basically we were just following the shoreline and our next stop was FengChuiSha (風吹沙). The reason it was named this way was because during some season the wind would be so strong until the sand was blowing up to the shore and buried the road!
Let's take a Picture in the middle of the road! I should've done my "Hit me with a Truck" pose
What else? Sand, Ocean & Cloudy Blue Sky!
Our last stop before late lunch was GangKou Suspension Bridge (港口吊橋). We simply walked back and forth to take some pictures before leaving for a late lunch in HengChun (恆春).
But 1st, you need a ticket!
Don't jump on a Suspension Bridge!!!
Oh dear.. is it swinging? *Think of Hollywood Disaster Movie*
The timing we reached HengChun was around 2pm++ whereby most food stalls or restaurants were closed. We did managed to buy the famous papaya milk in HengChun which tasted okay for us before leaving to a random restaurant that our driver recommended.
One of the famous shop in HengChun
The Menu
Papaya Milk
It was empty when we went in and we ordered beef noodle and Ru Rou rice. Since we bought some hot spring egg (温泉蛋) in 7-11 thus we secretly add it to our rice & noodle as well. =P Did I mention the eggs were AWESOME? Buy it from 7-11 when you are in Taiwan! Anyway, the beef noodle and Ru Rou rice were not really that memorable since my whole brain was full of EGGS now! LOL!

Ru Rou Fan with our sneak-in Hot Spring Egg.. Yummy!
Some Drinks from 7-11
After the driver came to pick us up, she mentioned there was a famous dessert in HengChun and took us to buy it. It was basically some kind of Mung Bean with shaved ice (緑豆蒜). She then proceeded to drive us to a site near to a nuclear plant which offered view to MouBiTou (貓鼻頭). We continued to MouBiTou Park which was swarmed by tourists. What a circus here!
The Famous Dessert in HengChun
The Famous MaoTouShi from afar! Can you see the cat
Alert! Nuclear Plant at the left!
A Zoom in to the rock!
At MaoTouShi Park - see the crowd?
The Kitty Cat from the Top
We made another stop at Baisha Bay (白砂灣) to eat our melted mung bean dessert. The beach was just a very common site such as the one in Penang though.

Our Dessert!
The Beach
Our last stop of the day was to Mt Guan for sunset (關山日落). Unfortunately it was quite a cloudy day but the sight was still quite serene though. =)
It's Sunset!
天狗食日? LOL!!!
The Sun is setting!
Hiding behind the Cloud
Getting Darker
No more Sun!
Nice Color though!
We were dropped off right in front of Pizza Swell (波波窯烤PIZZA) at Kenting (墾丁大街) since we mentioned to our driver we’d loved to try the pizza. We were quite tired after a full-day tour thus we bought whatever food we wanted and headed directly back to our Minsu to eat in our room. Our friendly Minsu Receptionist was SHOCKED at the amount of foods we bought and told us that was A LOT!!! LOL!!!
Let's have some PIZZA!
I think the reason the pizza stood out among others was the thinness of the crust. We also bought the Crispy Soup dumpling (脆皮汤包) again since we loved it so much! There were also this deep fried giant squid which tasted delicious! Not to forget the milk with tapioca ball (青蛙下蛋), tea infused with alcohol (干邑紅茶) and the famous grilled deep fried chicken with plum powder (梅粉)! Today we bought Grilled Boar Meat and Sausage (原住民石板烤肉) – a stall different from last night. I must say the stall last night was WAY BETTER! We finally called it a night after stuffed ourselves silly with all the foods!!! What a weight gaining trip!
Sammy at the Alcoholic Tea Shop!
