Khunthai: A Cholesterol-Ful Feast

Once every three moon cycles, the ruler of Yggdrasill would provides certain amount of coins to each realms for a feast. This time, the queen of Niflheim has decided to have that feast in a hot, alfresco Thai restaurant by the sea in Midgard. It should be a blessing as daylight and sea hardly appear in Niflheim. Thus there we were - Niflheim dwellers among Midgardians with possibility of a Ragnarok.

KhunThai it was called and a dish called Steamed Lala Lemon was served first. Sauce was sour and a bit spicy! Served on a hot plate – such a warm welcome to us from icy cold Niflheim. I like it! Another!

Chap Oong Ommelet and broccoli were here but they were simply egg and vegetable. Passable.

Then there were Deep Fried Fish with 3 Taste and Nameless Fried Chicken. Three tastes? Spicy, sweet and sour were our guess. Fish was crunchy though. Nameless Fried Chicken – strange name! Has the Midgardian run out of idea or vocabulary? Well, the chicken was quite small and common.

Then we were bombarded by Prawn – a delicacy in Midgard I heard. First off there was The Prawn Claypot Glass Noodle – fresh prawn fried with chewy glass noodle, not bad at all!

Tom Yam Seafood is a famous dish here and it was full of squids, fishes and Prawns. But the taste just couldn’t rival the sauce of Steamed Lala Lemon. Sorry KhunThai, apparently your signature was outperformed by an appetizer.

Otak Otak is like a big lump of too wet cake made of fish, squid and Prawns. Taste coconut milky but a bit strange actually.

Come on, you can at least see a few here..

Finally, there was Thai Style Salted Egg Prawn – unfortunately the prawn was quite tasteless once the skin was peeled.

Go have you eyes checkup if you can't see it...

We were told that a normal Midgardian would not have ordered all of that together due to a strange phenomenon called “Cholesterol”. They said if Cholesterol level was high enough, it would kill a Midgardian. Well, we just don’t see the concern here – if anything happens to the Midgardian, our realm would gain more dwellers! The more the merrier! You are always welcomed with open arm in Niflheim. =)
