Shall we have a poll here? How many of you have heard of
White Day? Or White Valentine? I guess Japanese or Korean movie buffs should’ve
heard about this but not for someone living under a rock like me. In case you
are living under the same rock, White Day
is a holiday celebrated on March 14, one month after Valentine's Day. The
difference between Valentine's Day and White Day is about who gives the gifts.
In these cultures, women present chocolates to men as gifts on Valentine's Day.
One month later, men are supposed to return the favor by buying two to three times
more expensive gifts for the women on
White Day. (link).
See that? Two to three times more expensive gifts!!!
I love this already!!!! *excited* We really need some boost on our reclining
economy! Well I didn’t get the “two to three times more expensive gifts” since
someone apparently did not get the memo or perhaps this was not clearly written
on a Spec. What I did get was a surprise buffet lunch at Miraku Japanese
Restaurant at G Hotel. Great! Now I have to stuff myself silly and abandon my
weight lost plan! *facepalm* It’s a conspiracy I tell you!!!

The Brochure |
We arrived quite late at the restaurant – almost 2pm and the
buffet session would be closed at 3pm. We were totally excited to see all the
FOODsss!!!! Since we were starving, we just packed on our plate without taking
any food pictures at the buffet station. Oops.. this is the 1st
plate of sashimi, sushi & maki galore! Everything here was just so fresh!!!
*sigh deeply & gone to heaven*

This is HEAVEN! |
We were still not satisfied after our 1st plate
and continued to ransack the cooked food section. We ended up with plenty of
teriyaki salmon & self-service soba. Oh gosh! Where did they get their
salmon from? It was just so scrumptious!!! Unfortunately they never refill the
teriyaki salmon anymore – if they did, we’d have chomped down everything.

Teriyaki Salmon & Soba |
After 2 rounds of food, it was finally time to take some
pictures. Bad news? It was quite late by then so most of the plates were almost
empty and no one refilled them. Even the salmon sashimi was not re-filled
either… *pout*

Empty Section for Salmon Sashimi... |
We took some deep fried salmon & small shrimps and
salmon fried rice for sampling as well. The salmon fried rice was really yummy!
They also served other foods such as Japanese curry, sukiyaki & spaghetti but
we did not try those. Oh ya, did I mention you can order handroll from the
counter too? We ordered the soft shell crab handroll and loved it. Too much
rice though… I just wanted more soft shell crabs!!! =P

As for drinks, they provided various juices and the typical
green tea at the counter for your taking. One of the letdowns was the dessert –
I couldn’t find any green tea ice cream there. Perhaps we were too late? Anyway
it was definitely a thumb up for the food and ambience. One small advice? Go
earlier! Please note that you will be limited to 1 hour & 30 mins eating
time. The total bill for 2 adults was RM130+ including tax.
