Travel Log: A (Sort of) Cross-Continental (Business) Journey (Day 2-5)

Destination: Japan, Germany & Singapore
Duration: 13 Days 12 Nights (Feb 22~Mar 07, 2014)

Day 2 & 3: Works & Foodssss

Monday morning was greeted with a yummy sandwich from last night and non-stop works. We went to the same sushi restaurant we ate 2 weeks ago at the underground mall (link) and this time ordered something different – a lady set with some sushi, tempura & salad. I would say the one I ordered 2 weeks ago was nicer though.. didn’t really like the sushi this time and the salad tasted too onion-y for my taste.

After work, we had a light dinner of bread & soup at a Japanese chain restaurant called Tokyo Soup Stock which I ordered the lobster bisque. We then had some grocery shopping at the Lazona mall for Japanese tidbits before going back to the Nikko Hotel for more works.. Sigh…

Another sandwich greeted me in the morning but I guess I was simply too tired to really enjoy it. Lunchtime was at the Underground Pork Cutlet restaurant back from 2 weeks ago with a different order. I would say too much deep fried stuffs! We could hardly finish it. It was nice and all but simply too big for us!

We were thinking to have light dinner again but our Japanese counterpart insisted to treat us dinner and brought us to this fancy sushi restaurant which we queued for 20mins just to get in. We started with shrimp dumpling (Chinese style) and Japanese omelet before a HUGE plate of sushi was presented to us individually! GOSH!!! There went my weight lost plan!!!! The seafood was fresh but some of it was simply very hard to chew down – had to swallow it with my green tea there.  It was tasty overall though – looked great too!!!

Day 4-5: Relocation & Minato Mirai

We were going to check out from Kawasaki Nikko Hotel today to move to Shin-Yokohama Associa Hotel to continue our work in the office at the area. We went to the Kawasaki office in the morning and checkout to move into Associa during lunchtime.

Goodbye Kawasaki!
The Associa Hotel's room was actually so much bigger than Kawasaki Nikko Hotel. They actually provides wash balls and lots of green tea toiletries too. =)

Lunch was at a restaurant near Shin-Yokohama Station and it was SOBA again! After last night food galore, we simply wanted something light. The soba tasted okay I guess.
Attracted to the Restaurant by all the Soba...

Soba Again!!! =)
After a long day in office, we’d decided to get some beer at a western restaurant near the station. We ordered the mini Hawaiian sausage with a big glass of beer for only 780 Yen.

Lookie Lookie!!!
After our sausage adventure, I simply walked around the area into Prince Pepe & Cubic Plaza. There was almost closing hour thus a lot of food stalls were having discount on their items. That was when I saw this exquisite bakery in Cubic plaza 1st floor. The breads, desserts & sandwiches looked so irresistible and they were having 30% discount. I’m a sucker for sandwiches and I ended up buying a Salmon sandwich which was oh-so sinful!!! Gosh!!!! FAT!!!

GOSH!!!! All of these in Convi Store!

How come Malaysian Convi Store doesn't have all these?!
One of our Favourites from Last Year - Cheap and Nice!
Did I mention that other than the Salmon Sandwich, I also wolfed down a totally CHEEEESEY dessert from Convi too? That was so not cool for my waist line or my health but it WAS JUST SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Sorry for all the CAPS here but I just couldn't help it! I was looking for it again on 2nd night but it was sold out then. *facepalm*
Sinful Supper
Heart-Stopping!!!
Salmon Sandwich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sammy has no Comments!
There was a Bic Camera in Cubic plaza and they were also having 30% discount on their Lego & Nanoblock items but unfortunately it was closing hour so I didn’t have the time to grab anything. The funny thing was I never had the chance to step into Bic Camera again during my stay here in Shin-Yokohama… What a bummer!
30% off!
Nanoblocks at 30% Off too!
The second day in the Shin-Yokohama office involved lunch in a local restaurant near Ramen Museum with raw salmon & fish roe rice set.
Our Sakana Set! Not the best though...
We finally left the office and took a train to Minato Mirai – a very famous area in Yokohama. We took a quick dinner in Landmark Plaza before getting on to their Sky Garden to have a full view of Minato Mirai.

Another Blurry View.. hhaa...
After the view from the top, we walked across the street along the promenade where we crossed the Nippon Maru National Park, the park was closed since it was late and it was raining too! It seemed that weather was not on our side too.. *sigh*
This is Landmark Tower!
Hardrock Yokohama is here!

Nippon Maru?
We walked across the Kishamichi Promenade under the rain and ran into Yokohama World Porters. The mall was starting to close up as well since it was almost 9pm. We didn’t even get to the Red Brick Warehouse and only managed to take some beautiful night view picture of the Ferris Wheel from Yokohama Cosmo World.
Walking Across the Bridge - This Calls for a Panoramic View!
Another Panoramic View!
I just have to take a picture!
Goodbye Minato Mirai!
We finally walked back to the MinatoMirai Train station under the rain and only managed to reach Shin-Yokohama after 10pm. Lesson learned? There are a lot of ways to get from one train station to another train station as long as you know where to transit. We were waiting for a certain line of train based on our screenshot of hyperdia.com before an elder asked us where we were going and told us we didn’t have to wait for that particular line – just hop on and transit at next station with another line! =)
