Travel Log: A Winter in Japan (Too Much Snows!) (Day 2-3)

Destination: Japan
Duration: 6 Days 5 Nights (Feb 08~Feb 14, 2014)

Day 2: Food Porn!!!

It was a Monday so we needed to walk to our Kawasaki Office which was literally 5 mins walk from Kawasaki Nikko Hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was great – we had the international selection and the Japanese selection – love the soba! We finally met our US colleague and traded flight stories. Apparently they were either:-
-          Delayed
-          Diverted to another airport and slept on the bench, or
-          Took 4 hours++ to reach Kawasaki before the storm hit!

Day 3 Breakfast - look at all the varieties!
Everything went well in the office and lunch was at a restaurant nearby the office. I ordered the Oyakudon which tasted kind of meh and my Assistant Manager Alice had seared chicken!!! Seared but close to RAW chicken! Eeewwww!!! She didn't know it when she ordered it but she chomped them down! Go girl!!!

At night, our US colleague Diana took us to the Lazona Mall (another side of Kawasaki station) to ogle at FOOD! Japanese really loves their food presentation! We just wished we had a bigger stomach or a body that could never gain weight so that we can enjoy all the food!

We ended up at the foodcourt which sold varieties of food and we ended up with this Japanese meatball stall. I ordered the lady size meatball omelet with curry sauce for 720 Yen and it was so YUMMY!!! Alice & Diana ordered the shrimp & chicken option with cheese but they couldn’t finish it since it was too rich. They both loved it though. =)

Day 3: Work Hard & Play Harder

It was National Holiday in Japan but we still needed to get to the office to work work work. However, boss had allowed us to leave the office earlier to celebrate the national holiday! Hooray! We grabbed a very late lunch at the Lazona foodcourt again. This time I ordered the raw salmon & tuna rice with soft boiled egg on top. The combination was YUMMY and the raw fish was so fresh!
There were some light snows in the morning but couldn't catch it on camera...

Thanks to Hyperdia.com and tripline website (so ACCURATE!!!), we managed to walk from Tokyo to the Imperial Palace. BUT IT WAS CLOSED!!!! Apparently the closing time was 3.30pm! So early!!! It’s like my experience at Castle of St John’s in Kos all over again (link)! *sob* Since it was closed, we simply walked around the castle – we walked and walked and finally realized that it was a really BIG CIRCLE. It took us like 1 hour++ to complete the circle! But the view was nice and weather was cold so it was fine. (Just hope to have a better companion though)
On the way!!!
