What’s for Lunch? - D’ Fat Mona Lisa Cafe

D’ Fat Mona Lisa was the place that we managed to google on a lazy day due to its close proximity. It seemed to be praised by many bloggers thus we’d decided to give it a try. We were charmed by the ambience of the Café which was housed in a bungalow. We were thinking to try their highly recommended ‘Espresso Chicken’ but were told that it was sold out. We ended up ordering BBQ grilled chicken, mushroom soup, salmon cup & a cup of hot chocolate.
Can you see the Mona Lisa?
Nice Ambience

The mushroom soup was normal – thankfully not the instant soup type that we dreaded. The BBQ Chicken was just passable but the portion was really little. Perhaps the chicken was on diet? LOL!!! Anyway, the grilled Chicken in The Cruise at The One (link) was definitely better in term of size & taste. =P

The Salmon Cup tasted quite nice on the top (reminds me of otak-otak) but a total disaster at the bottom as it was drenched in OIL!! *gasp* It was also in small portion as well.

Hot Chocolate
All in all, we were quite baffled by all the praises from bloggers at this café. The price simply didn’t translate well with the food quality & quantity. Definitely not our cup of tea and not worth to eat the calories to be a Fat Mona Lisa. =P

D’ Fat Mona Lisa was located at the same street with McDonald’s Greenlane car entrance but was situated at the left side if turning in from Jalan Masjid Negeri in Penang, Malaysia.
