What’s for Lunch? – Nando’s: An Oldie but Goodie

Nando’s is always a favourite of us in office. Whenever we think of going to Queensbay, Nando’s would be one of the lunch suggestions. However there is this major concern on waiting time as the place is always swarmed with people! We once waited for 1 hour just to get our food and had to gulp down everything in 15minutes to rush back to the office. There is no help on pre-order either as the last time we pre-ordered, we waited for 40minutes as well. It just diminished the joy of indulging the food due to the rush. The verdict? Only go if you have plenty of time to spare or during foreign visit (they LOVE it!!!)! Personally I enjoy it more during dinner as I can indulge it without looking at my watch. =P
Waiting waiting waiting - where is my FOOD?!!!
We can only stare at the peri-peri sauces - or should we drink them?
Anyway, our favourite order is the ever-popular quarter chicken with 2 sidelines. You get to choose the chicken spicy level (extra hot, hot, mild, lemon & herbs) and the sidelines (Mediterranean rice, spicy rice, peri chips, potato wedges, garlic bread, garden salad, coleslaw, grilled vegetable etc). Here is the picture spam!!! Let’s keep spamming, let’s keep spamming, let’s keep spamming spamming spamming… *singsong*

We’ve also tried the Portuguese salad with chicken – spicy lover out there! Try mixing the dressing with extra hot peri-peri sauce! You would be surprised at the exciting spiciness that challenges your tastebud!

They also offer chicken wrap for those weightwatcher out there and it tastes great with the crispiness of the vegetable and tenderness of the chicken inside. There is just one problem here – don’t eat it on your 1st date as the wrap has a tendency to stick all over your teeth when you bite into it. *sweat*
Chicken Wrap with Peri Chips
Nando’s also offers varieties of drinks and dessert and here we have the chocolate mud cake and hot chocolate complimentary from Nando’s member card. The hot chocolate is quite common but the chocolate mud cake is definitely sinful. =P

For the budget conscious, you may order the chicken with rice which cost less than RM10 – basically chicken pieces + Mediterranean rice/spicy rice which is quite a plateful! Unfortunately I’d always forgotten to take a picture of this but I can assure you the portion and the taste is definitely worth the money especially when you eat it with tons of extra hot peri-peri sauce. *wink*

Nando’s has 2 main branches in Penang – Queensbay Mall & Gurney Plaza.
