Voucher Food Hunt: The Wine Shop

This voucher caught my eyes due to the Wine involved in the deal – with no idea of “The Wine Shop” existence or its quality.

Thus on the sunny labour day, we arrived in the shop at 2pm for a late lunch. The shop’s table base was made of barrel and the shop had a big collection of wines as per the shop’s name implied.

We were served with a glass of red and white wine. As shown in the photo, the portion given was very small. The white wine tasted crisp and nice but the red wine was too dry with a heavy coal-taste.

The White Wine - Crisp & Nice
Caeser Salad was served and unfortunately I must say it was totally tasteless. The soup tasted generic – like cooked straight from a Campbell soup can. Well, I guess we shouldn’t place too much expectation on a restaurant specialized in wine but not food right?

Campbell Soup???
Our main course of Margherita pizza was surprisingly nice with a thin base tasted like puff. The tomato paste was not applied evenly with some spot overflowed but it was still fine. The topping consisted of big chunk of fresh tomatoes and lots of basil topped with thick mozzarella cheese. Finally something nice! =)

Look at the Tomato & Basil!
During our time there, we could see a lot of people coming in to purchase wines. So I guess if you are interested in wine, you could pay them a visit – skip the salad and soup though.

The Wine Shop is located at a small road (Lintang Burmah) between Belissa Row and the traffic light in Pulau Tikus, Penang.
